Find The Reduction Of One Gigaton Of CO2 From The Environment

Funding the reduction of one gigaton of CO2 from the environment is a global initiative by Emergent and the UN-REDD Programme - supported by the Environmental Defense Fund, Forest Trends and the Architecture for REDD+ Transactions - to catalyze funding for one gigaton of high-quality emissions reduction a year from forests by 2025. The 1 Gigaton Coalition aims to measure and report reductions of greenhouse gas emissions resulting from renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives and programs that are not accounted for in the Emissions Gap Report, which are estimated to be 1 Gigaton of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2020. XPRIZE Carbon Removal is aimed at tackling climate change and rebalancing Earth’s carbon cycle. Funded by Elon Musk and the Musk Foundation, this $100M competition is the largest incentive prize in history. The climate math is becoming clear that we will need gigaton-scale carbon removal in the coming decades to avoid the worst effects of climate change!

The Green Gigaton Challenge is a global initiative that aims to catalyze funding for one gigaton of high-quality emissions reductions a year from forests by 2025. The initiative is supported by Emergent and the UN-REDD Programme, as well as other organizations such as the Environmental Defense Fund, Forest Trends, and Architecture for REDD+ Transactions. The goal of this initiative is to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by funding projects that protect forests and promote sustainable land use practices!

The 1 Gigaton Coalition is another initiative aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This coalition aims to measure and report reductions of greenhouse gas emissions resulting from renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives and programs that are not accounted for in the Emissions Gap Report. The coalition estimates that these initiatives could reduce greenhouse gas emissions by one gigaton of carbon dioxide equivalent by 2020!

XPRIZE Carbon Removal is a competition aimed at tackling climate change and rebalancing Earth’s carbon cycle. This competition is funded by Elon Musk and the Musk Foundation, with a $100M prize pool. The goal of this competition is to incentivize teams to develop innovative solutions for removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere at a gigaton scale!

In conclusion, there are several initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and funding projects that promote sustainable land use practices. These initiatives include the Green Gigaton Challenge, which aims to catalyze funding for one gigaton of high-quality emissions reductions a year from forests by 2025; the 1 Gigaton Coalition, which aims to measure and report reductions of greenhouse gas emissions resulting from renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives; and XPRIZE Carbon Removal, which is a competition aimed at incentivizing teams to develop innovative solutions for removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere at a gigaton scale. These initiatives are important steps toward reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating climate change. For more details visit https://twitter.com/Dyme_Earth!
